Lock Rekey and Master System Rekey

There are certain circumstances under which it becomes advisable to replace your locks. After you’ve moved in to a new home, for example, or when a tenant has left your property. Adding new locks provides that extra level of security that makes you feel safer.

Some people find replacing perfectly fine locks to be a little wasteful though. What many people don’t realize is that there is no need to be wasteful as it’s possible to change your locks without replacing them.

Rekeying is the process of adjusting a lock – namely the tumbler and wafer configuration – so that the same lock can be used with a different key. This means that the original key becomes redundant and you need not worry about anybody else gaining access to your property.

Toronto’s Certified Locksmiths offers a rekeying service. Providing it’s in good working order, our professional locksmiths can rekey the lock’s alignment, in essence giving you a new lock to work with.

As well as rekeying individual keys, we also offer a master system rekeying service to those using a master key within their Toronto property. We can rekey the entire lock setup as well as the master and individual keys.

Each of these services is available by appointment or as part of our 24/7 emergency service.
